Agency principal, Mark McArdle, started his insurance career in 1978 as a Claims Adjuster with Erie Insurance. Mark later became a Branch Sales Manager and Assistant Vice President with Erie before opening The McArdle Agency in Columbia in 1987. Mark is a lifelong Maryland resident and graduate of The University of Maryland and holds the CPCU designation, the leading professional designation for the insurance industry. Mark is an active member of the Columbia Business Community and coaches youth soccer, basketball, and softball. He attributes his success to a lesson he learned on his first day with Erie in 1978, "Abide by Erie's Golden Rule . . . to treat others as you yourself would like to be treated".
